For this week’s Polkadoodles Digi Choosday DT prompt, we were challenged to create something for Mother’s Day or Mom’s birthday. I had already made a Mother’s Day coupon book last month (check it out here), so this time I wanted to make something for her birthday instead.
But while planning my design, I thought… why not make a 2-in-1 project that works for both Mother’s Day and Mom’s birthday?
So here it is, a special “DO NOT DISTURB” door hanger for Mom’s special days! Whether she’s enjoying breakfast in bed, a DIY spa day, or simply a well-deserved nap, this little project makes her feel extra loved and celebrated.
If you’re using a Cricut machine, you can access the template I created in Design Space. For those who prefer to craft without a machine, don’t worry! I’ve included measurements in the instructions below so you can easily recreate this manually.

For Cricut users:
Click the Design Space link to access my template. Please note that the Polkadoodles Digi Stamps are not included in the file, as uploaded images restrict access to the design.
In Design Space, I duplicated the door hanger shape and flipped one horizontally. This allows you to cut two pieces and glue them back-to-back for a finished front and back design.
For non-machine users:
Cut 2 pieces of patterned paper measuring 4” x 9”.
Using a circle die or cutter, cut a 2 ¾” circle near the top of each piece to create the door knob opening. You may cut one side open to the edge or keep it as a full circle, depending on your preference.
Glue the two patterned papers together (front and back).
Cut your sentiment from vinyl. If crafting manually, you can use alphabet stickers or die-cut letters.
Color your digi stamps. I used Ohuhu Alcohol Markers for vibrant, cheerful digis!
Apply your text to the hanger. I used transfer tape for the vinyl.
Adhere the colored digi stamps using foam tape for added dimension.
Add floral embellishments to both sides of the hanger. I used a glue gun to secure the flowers.
And just like that, your door hanger is ready!
Pair it with breakfast in bed, a handwritten note, or a relaxing DIY spa setup to truly make Mom feel celebrated on her special day.
