Digi Choosday Project | Gratitude Journaling Folio with Polkadoodles Autumn Fall Fox

Digi Choosday Project | Gratitude Journaling Folio with Polkadoodles Autumn Fall Fox

This week’s Digi Choosday prompt is Halloween / Autumn, and while I initially planned on making just one Halloween project, I couldn’t help but want to do an Autumn-inspired one too. So… here’s my second project: a Gratitude Journaling Folio featuring the adorable Autumn Fall Foxes from Polkadoodles!

This folio is actually a one-page wonder design, but I saw the perfect patterned papers in the Boo Halloween Paper Digital Bundle and Enfys Jetsetting Digital Stamp Bundle—so I ended up layering extra panels inside. If you’re recreating this, feel free to stick with a single 12x12 patterned paper, or go wild like I did!

The cover is a mixed media combo of a paper doily, trims, flowers, one of the Autumn Fox digi stamps, and the word “Grateful.” Inside, I added more sweet words like “Thankful” and “Blessed.”

All digi stamps were colored with Ohuhu Alcohol Markers, and I’m also sharing a peek at my swatch card (which apart from my Ohuhu set swatch card, I always make when picking colors to use) — along with a bonus guest: my cat, who decided to nap right on my desk while I crafted.

Materials Used:

  • 12x12 solid cardstock

How to Make the Folio:

  1. Score your 12x12 cardstock at 6 inches. Rotate and score at 4 and 8 inches.

  2. Cut vertically along the 6-inch line on the left and middle panels, stopping at the fold. Leave the last panel uncut.

  3. Fold the cut panels to the center. Cut a triangle off the corners of these folds to create pocket openings.

  4. Glue each triangle flap to the base, leaving the slanted side open as a pocket.

  5. Fold the entire piece in half to close the folio.

  6. Punch a thumb notch on the center panel (second page).

  7. Apply glue to the outer edge and bottom of this panel to form another pocket.

Decorating with Patterned Paper:

If you’re adding patterned paper like I did:

  • Cut 2 pcs of Pattern Paper 1 (Boo Halloween) to 3¾” x 5¾”

  • Cut 4 pcs of Pattern Paper 2 (Enfys Jetsetting) to 3¾” x 5¾”

  • Trim two Pattern Paper 2 pieces diagonally to line the inside pockets.

  • Punch a thumb notch in one piece for the center pocket.

Use Pattern Paper 1 for the front and back covers, and Pattern Paper 2 for the inside panels and pockets.

🎨 Embellishments & Layout:

A Full Circle Moment

This folio was inspired by a Creative Gratitude Journaling Workshop I joined back in November 2021, right before we moved to Saudi Arabia. While making this, I went looking for the original project—and when I found it, I knew I could now recreate it with all the skills and stash I’ve gained since then.

I wrote more about that sentimental moment in this blog post here.

A Reminder to Make Gratitude a Habit

Gratitude doesn’t need to wait for Thanksgiving. Try journaling regularly, even if it’s just a few sticky notes each week tucked into a folio like this. One day, you’ll look back and remember all the small blessings you might’ve forgotten.

Use the Post-Its or pocket cards to jot down:

  • Things you’re thankful for

  • Prayers and answered prayers

  • A person who made your day

  • A moment you want to remember

Or… make one and gift it to someone special.

  1. It’s not just the finished product that’s wonderful but the objective in making this project.
    * Things you’re thankful for
    *Prayers and answered prayers
*A person who made your day
    * Moment you want yo remember

    Everyday is a thanksgiving day.

There are millions of things we should be grateful for:
the warmth of a pet, nature, our breath, sleep, our jobs, rain, friendship , ideas shared and …..the list goes on.

So thankful that you continue to share your crafting skill.
