Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Project | Friendship Shaker Gift Tags

This week’s Digi Choosday Design Team prompt is Friendship, and I couldn’t think of a more fitting project than making something for two of my favorite people.

Today’s project is a pair of shaker gift tags for gifts I’ll be sending to my two dear friends in Manila, Kaye and KM. The three of us have lovingly called ourselves KKK for years (Kaye, KM, and me (Ana) Katrina!), and even though we’re miles apart these days, little handmade surprises are my favorite way of reminding them that they’re always close to my heart.

Of course, ordinary gift tags simply wouldn’t do. These ladies deserve something just a little extra, so I created colorful, sparkly shaker tags filled with happy little bits that sparkle and move around with every shake. They’re crafters too, so I know they’ll appreciate all the tiny handmade details and the extra effort that went into making this.

One of my favorite parts of this project is that the We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool I used was actually a gift from Kaye a few years ago.

• Plastic scrapbook album sleeves (12x12, cut into small pouches)

How to Make the Shaker Tags

1. Color your digi stamps using Ohuhu Alcohol Markers.

2. Die cut your tags.

3. Ink blend the tags using Distress Oxides. I blended the color darker at the bottom and gradually lighter toward the top using Worn Lipstick and Twisted Citron.

4. Cut your scrapbook page protectors into small pouches. Using the Fuse Tool, seal the bottom and both sides, leaving the top open.

5. Slide your tag and shaker bits into the pouch.

6. Seal the top edge with the Fuse Tool.

7. Punch a hole through the tag using the Crop-a-dile.

8. Adhere your colored digi stamp to the front of the tag.

9. Add your sentiment.

10. Thread ribbon through the hole.

(Optional) Make a little beaded charm! I spelled out KKK with letter beads and added a tiny heart before looping it onto the ribbon.

I hope these tags bring just as many smiles to Kaye and KM as they brought me while making them. Sometimes, the smallest handmade touches carry the biggest hugs, and I think that’s exactly what friendship is all about. Polkadoodles Hello Autumn Collection | KCC#23 Card #1 - Autumn Rides

Today I’m excited to share my first card featuring the Autumn Rides Hello Autumn Colour Digi Stamp from the brand-new Hello Autumn Collection at Polkadoodles! If you love cozy autumn colours, adorable illustrations, and beautifully coordinated papers and sentiments, you’ll definitely want to check out this gorgeous new release.

This card is actually Card #1 from a complete set of 15 cards I created from Kendra’s Card Challenge #23 (KCC#23). If you’ve never tried Kendra’s Card Challenge before, it is honestly one of my favorite ways to make cards. Not only is it incredibly fun because you get to follow a different sketch for each card, but it’s also one of the fastest and most economical ways to create an entire coordinated card collection!

For this first card, I used the DLPD10188c Autumn Rides Hello Autumn Colour Digi Stamp, along with the gorgeous Hello Autumn Collection pattern papers and a sentiment from the same collection. Everything coordinates beautifully, making it so easy to create a polished autumn-themed card.
