Polkadoodles Digi Choosday | Quick & Easy Mixed Media Card with Winnie Autumn Wishes

I've been wanting to do a little mixed media lately, so for this week's Polkadoodles project I created this cute card featuring Winnie Autumn Wishes! I played with this collection a few weeks ago and loved the sketch card I made. It received such lovely engagement on social media, with several people commenting on how cute it was, and of course, I had to create another project with this cute collection.

Card I used for KCC IG Hop early this month!

This card is actually very simple to make! The added texture satisfied my mixed media itch without turning it into a time-consuming project. I layered patterned paper, tucked in a piece of gauze, added my colored Winnie digi stamp, and finished it off with a few floral embellishments.

The gauze and the floral embellishment add nice texture and dimension while keeping the card clean and easy to recreate.

Materials Used

Polkadoodles Products

Other Supplies

  • White cardstock

  • Solid-colored cardstock

  • Bearly Art Glue

  • SureBonder Glue Gun

  • Gauze

  • Floral embellishments

  • Paper Trimming

  • Score board

Instructions

1. Trim a piece of white cardstock to 8½ x 5½ inches to create your card base.

2. Score the cardstock at 4¼ inches on the long side and fold in half.

3. Trim a piece of solid-colored cardstock to 4 x 5¼ inches.

4. Trim a piece of patterned paper to 3¾ x 5 inches. I used one from the Autumn Wishes Papers collection.

6. Adhere the patterned paper to the solid-colored cardstock.

7. Using a hot glue gun, attach a small piece of gauze to the lower right corner of the layered panel.

8. Adhere your colored Winnie Autumn Wishes - Posting Happy Mail Digi Stamp over the gauze.

9. Add floral embellishments around the corner of the digi stamp.

10. Adhere one of the Autumn Wishes Sentiments to the upper left corner.

11. Attach the completed panel to your card base.

And that's it! A cute little autumn card that has texture, dimension, and lots of cuteness, all without spending hours on mixed media techniques and post crafting clean up.

I hope this project inspires you to pull out your favorite Polkadoodles goodies and add a little texture to your next card! We'd love to see what you create, so be sure to join us over at the Digi Choosday Challenge for your chance to share your creations and get inspired by fellow crafters.

Polkadoodles Digi Choosday | Winnie Autumn Wishes Easel Card

Do you ever get that itch to try a certain technique while crafting? Lately, that's been happening to me! So I first had the urge to do a little mixed media, and this time, I couldn't stop thinking about making an easel card. So here it is, my first easel card! And if you're enjoying this one, you'll be happy to know there's another easel card coming next week.

I'm still reaching for the Winnie Autumn Wishes collection because I just can't get enough of Winnie! I especially love the Happy Mail digi stamps, and of course, this crafting themed digi that cannot not be used! I mean... crafting! How can I not make a card of it!

I actually already know to whom I should give this one (and my second DigiChoosday card for today) to!

If you've been wanting to try making an easel card but weren't sure where to start, this is a fun and beginner-friendly project that's quick to put together.

Materials Used

Instructions

1. Trim a piece of solid colored cardstock to 11" x 4¼". This will be your card base.

2. Score the cardstock at 5½" along the long side and fold.

3. Cut a piece of white cardstock to 9¼" x 4".

4. Score the white cardstock at 2" and 4" along the long side, then fold along the score lines.

5. Cut your pattern paper into:

1 piece measuring 3¾" x 5"
1 piece measuring 3¾" x 1¾"

6. Adhere the larger pattern paper piece to the first panel of the scored white cardstock and the smaller piece to the third panel, leaving the middle panel plain white.

7. Adhere the completed white cardstock layer to the front of your card base.

8. Attach your colored Winnie digi stamp to the small patterned panel.

9. Adhere the "Create a little happiness every day" sentiment to the large patterned panel using foam tape to add dimension.

10. Finish the inside of the card by adhering a piece of white cardstock measuring 4" x 5¼", giving you plenty of white space to write your message.

11. And that's it! A quick, easy, and adorable easel card that's perfect for sending a little handmade happiness!
