Polkadoodles Digi Choosday | Christmas Shaker Card Featuring Cute Santa

Hello! It’s time for another Digi Choosday project, and this week’s Design Team prompt is Christmas! 

For today’s card, I combined some of my favorite things, seasonal dies, a cute Polkadoodles Christmas digi stamp, my trusty Ohuhu Alcohol Markers, Aleene’s Glitter Snow, and of course… lots of sparkly shaker bits!

I created a simple but super cute Christmas shaker card that’s surprisingly easy to make. Even though the design comes together quickly, I know that once the holiday season arrives, time always seems to disappear! That’s why I’m enjoying making extra Christmas cards now while there’s still plenty of time. Come December, I’ll definitely be thankful for having a little head start.

Materials Used

• Tim Holtz Guillotine Trimmer
• Ohuhu Alcohol Markers
• Aleene’s Glitter Snow
• Palette Knife
• Die Cutting Machine
• Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue
• Acetate
• Foam Tape
• Shaker Bits
• Rectangle Nesting Die
• White Cardstock
• Pattern Paper - Recollections Primary Dots
• Sentiment: Have A Jolly Happy Christmas (from Polkadoodles' Christmas Message Sheets)
• Digi Stamp: Santa - Christmas Cute Printable Digital Stamp

Instructions

1. Color the Santa - Christmas Cute Printable Digital Stamp using your favorite alcohol markers. I used my Ohuhu Alcohol Markers. Add texture to the white parts of Santa’s outfit by applying Aleene’s Glitter Snow with a palette knife. Allow it to dry completely.

2. Die cut your embellishments. I chose candy canes and a poinsettia to complete the sweet, festive look.

3. Trim your patterned paper to 4” × 5¼”. Using a rectangle nesting die, cut a window from the center of the patterned paper.

4. Cut a piece of acetate to 4” × 5¼”.

5. Cut a piece of white cardstock to 4” × 5¼”. Adhere your Christmas sentiment near the upper middle section of the white cardstock.

6. Adhere the acetate behind the window opening. Apply foam tape around the back of the patterned paper with the acetate attached, making sure none of the foam tape is visible from the front.

7. Pour your shaker bits into the center of the acetate window.

8. Peel off the release paper from the foam tape and carefully adhere the white cardstock (with sentiment) to the back, sealing all the shaker bits inside.

9. Attach the completed shaker panel to an A2 card base made from white cardstock measuring 5½” × 8½”, scored in half on the long side.

10. Finish by adhering Santa, the candy canes, and the poinsettia to the front of the card.

And that’s it! You’ve created a festive shaker card that’s full of sparkle (literally!) and holiday cheer!

Digi Choosday Project | Christmas Essentials Mini Caddy featuring Polkadoodles Candy Fun Christmas Gingerbread Cookie

 Hello everyone!

This week’s Digi Choosday Design Team theme is “Get Organised for Christmas!” and I made something that will be useful all through the holiday season.

I created this adorable Christmas Essentials Mini Caddy to hold all those gift wrapping must-haves... glue, tape, Christmas tags, ribbons, and other little bits and pieces. It’s the perfect grab-and-go organizer that you can easily carry from room to room while wrapping presents, or even take with you if you’re crafting or gift wrapping away from home.

Today’s project was inspired by the incredibly talented Julie from The Paper Pixie. Instead of creating my usual step-by-step tutorial, I’d love to share her fantastic resources with you because she explains every step so clearly and makes each project easy to follow, whether you’re a seasoned crafter or just getting started.

Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Project | Christmas in July Tag & Gift Card Set

Christmas in July? A total fave so count me in!

For my first Christmas project of 2026, inspired by our Digi Choosday Design Team prompt of Christmas in July, I may have gotten a little carried away… and by a little, I mean I ended up making 12 Christmas tags and 12 gift cards! Haha!

To be fair, I blame the gorgeous Poinsettia Wreath Bundle from Polkadoodles. The moment I started creating with it, it was impossible to stop. The collection is absolutely beautiful, with stunning poinsettia images, coordinating papers, and sentiments that all work together effortlessly. Every element feels like it was designed to make Christmas crafting as enjoyable as possible. The rich festive florals, vibrant Christmas colors, and versatile designs had me reaching for “just one more tag” over and over again!

Since these are fairly simple projects, I won’t be doing a detailed step-by-step tutorial, but I thought I’d share a little about how I made them.

For the tags, I used my trusty Cricut Maker to cut all the tag bases. One of the things I love most about my Cricut is its ability to cut multiples at the same time. Just imagine die-cutting 12 tags with metal dies and running them through a die-cutting machine one by one! Sure, it might count as a mini workout, but it would definitely take much longer. With the Cricut, I can maximize my cardstock and cut as many tags as possible in a single go.

Once the tags were cut, I Cricut Print then Cut a variety of poinsettias, greenery, and festive berry sprigs from the collection. Before adhering anything down, I spread all the tags across my table and played around with different arrangements. It was so much fun mixing and matching the florals and foliage to give each tag its own unique look while still keeping everything beautifully coordinated.

After I was happy with the layouts, I raided my stash of ribbon and trim scraps and started decorating each tag. Projects like these are perfect for using up all those little bits and pieces we crafters save because they’re “too pretty to throw away!”

Of course, I couldn’t stop there. I added gem stickers for a little sparkle and dimension - because Christmas projects can always use a touch of extra shine! Then I finished each tag with a sentiment from the collection and threaded them with white twine accented by delicate silver strands for a festive finishing touch.

As if 12 tags weren’t enough, I also created 12 matching gift cards.

For the card bases, I cut white cardstock to 3” x 6” and scored each piece at 3” to create mini note cards. I then layered patterned papers from the collection, cut to 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”, onto the front of each card. Keeping the design simple allowed the gorgeous papers and sentiments to take center stage.

To complete the set, I made coordinating envelopes using my We R Memory Keepers 1-2-3 Punch Board. It’s one of my favorite tools for creating custom envelopes, especially when working with non-standard card sizes.

I had such a wonderful time creating these festive projects. The Poinsettia Wreath Bundle made the entire process effortless and inspiring. Between the stunning florals, beautiful papers, and perfectly coordinated sentiments, it’s one of those collections that makes you want to keep creating long after you’ve finished your original project.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be trying very hard not to make another dozen Christmas tags… at least until my next Christmas project!

Make Merry: My Favorite Holiday Decoration AKA one of my Favorite Holiday Tradition

 

Sooo, I originally planned to do all of Traci’s December prompts this year… but since I’m also working on a December Daily album I'm trying to fill with photos, bits, and junk journal goodness, I realized it might end up a little redundant. Still, when I first thought of doing so, I actually managed to finish this digital scrapbook page for the prompt “Favorite Holiday Decoration.”

One of my favorite holiday traditions is collecting photo Christmas ornaments with the year on them. It started 10 years ago when I received one as a gift, and ever since then, I’ve made sure to get one every single year. Whether it’s something we pick up during our travels or one I order internationally, I always have to have that year’s ornament - even though sometimes they get so pricey! Haha. I remember getting one on eBay.com and having them shipped to Manila. Grabe, ang mahal. hahaha. Also the 2023 one we got from Pottery Barn Bahrain was pretty steep. But then, it's rare I see one in a store so I had to get it.

For this layout, I included ornaments from 2015–2023, and my 2024 and 2025 ornaments have already arrived (ordered from Amazon!), though they’re currently waiting for me in the Philippines. Years from now, I know I’ll cherish going through each of these and feeling that warm, familiar glow as I remember every Christmas spent with my husband.

I used Traci Reed’s Make Merry collection for this layout, and it honestly couldn’t be more perfect for festive projects like this! I know I've been saying this but I really love the colors!

It’s been a whirlwind with the bazaar coming up and a staycation happening in the same weekend, but honestly, I’m happy and soaking up all the December (Christmas) magic.
