This week’s Happy Planner layout is flowery — because, well, people in Manila are currently bringing flowers to the cemetery for All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day. Haha! Joke lang. What actually happened was: what I wanted for this layout didn’t quite work out, so I ended up adding flowers and leaves instead. Hence, that curved floral thingy smacked right in the middle of the spread. Such an ugh layout, but oh wells. I used the Happy Memory Keeping Floral Memories and The Encourager sticker books for this week’s spread. Sentiment for the week: Girl, you are super amazing. Two Fridays in a row of creative fun? Yessss please!!!!
This weekend, I joined another workshop (read about the first I attended here!) by the talented Fizza of @customcalligra_fi — and I’m honestly a little sad I won’t be able to attend the upcoming ones because we’ll be away for the next few weeks. Still, I’m so happy I discovered her classes!
Today’s project was a 3D Flower Workshop, and just like last week, it was such a feel-good session. What I truly love about Fizza’s classes is how she makes art feel doable. She simplifies the steps without watering down the fun — and her passion really shines through in the way she teaches. That kind of energy is contagious, and it definitely shows in the students’ work. Both kids and adults created such beautiful pieces today!
Another thing I love about her classes? In between the painting and crafting, there’s always time for fun chika. 💬 Haha! We talk about the things we love — our hobbies, the ones we want to try, why we never get around to doing certain crafts (hello, life 😅), and the best places or apps to buy all the materials! It's so fun to be surrounded by people who share the same spark and it just goes to show that art really knows no age, no background, and has no cultural boundaries.
Even if you’re not based in Al Khobar, her classes are so worth it — I live in Al Ahsa and I’m more than happy to make the 2-hour drive (well, my husband drives, hehe) just to attend. That’s how enjoyable and fulfilling they are!

☕ Bonus: Cozy Café & A Familiar Spot for Pinoys
Today’s class was held at Owl Bakehouse and Coffee, a cozy café in Al Khobar with warm vibes — and Filipino staff! It felt extra homey and welcoming, especially if you’re a fellow Pinoy. Right next door is The Third Place, a restaurant that also has Filipino staff and a relaxed, comfy atmosphere. Both are lovely spots to visit if you’re exploring the area.
Can’t wait to join more workshops when we’re back in town. Until then, I’ll be keeping this weekend’s memory blooming on my desk!

Seeing “kababayans” in other countries is so heartwarming especially our OFWs who sacrifice being away from their families just to put food on the table and send their children to school. It’s apt to call them “heroes”.
If you encounter “kababayans” don’t miss saying hello and the “kamustahans”. I’m sure this little gesture would mean a lot to them. Just like you, they are also happy to see a “kababayan” in their midst.
I’ts sad that you will be missing painting sessions for your trip to Malaysia but I’m so happy that we will be seeing each other. Your siblings and I will promise to color your world in Malaysia.
