Digi Choosday Project | Technology-Themed Card featuring Polkadoodles’ Wanda

This week’s Digi Choosday challenge is all about Technology, and we were asked to feature something that shows a laptop or cellphone. I did make one with a phone, but Wanda has such a soft spot in me—I had to use her too!



I did make one with a phone, but let’s be real… Wanda has a soft spot in me and I couldn’t resist using her for this fun card. She’s just too fun not to use, especially when I found the perfect sentiment to match her mood:


“My Favourite Emails Are the Ones That Say My Order Has Shipped!”

If you’re anything like me, you know that feeling way too well. 


I used a mix of patterned paper scraps to create a cute, simple (but has a bit of extra), fun slimline background—and Polkadoodles’ sentiment packs made it so easy to finish off the card with personality and cuteness!

Materials Used:

Instructions:

  1. Trim white cardstock to 8.5” x 5.5” and score at 4.25” to make your card base.



  2. Cut pattern papers to 5.5” long and at least 0.5” wide. This is a great scrap-busting project!



  3. Choose your slimline dies—I used two different styles and alternated between them.



  4. Die-cut strips with your cutting machine.




  5. Adhere the strips to your card base, slightly overlapping each so no white space shows through.



  6. Color your digi stamp with your favorite markers. I used Ohuhu Alcohol Markers for this one.



  7. Pick your sentiment and layer it over vellum to help it stand out.

  8. Glue down the digi image and use foam tape to pop up the sentiment.


Tadaaa! A quick and easy card with personality—because Wanda always delivers!

Digi Choosday Project | DIY Notepad & Pen Holder Featuring Polkadoodles' Phone / Texting Girl

Today, I’m sharing a fun and functional project that combines both cuteness and practicality — a handmade Notepad and Pen Holder featuring one of the adorable texting girl digital stamps from Polkadoodles! This project is a great desk accessory, and it also makes a thoughtful gift for friends, coworkers, or fellow planner lovers.








Materials Needed:

  • Cardboard (cereal boxes work perfectly!)

  • Plain cardstock

  • Pattern Paper – I used Winnie Daisy Fairy printable paper from Polkadoodles 

  • Digi Stamp – I used the Phone/Texting Girl Digital Stamp from Polkadoodles

  • Ohuhu Alcohol Markers

  • Ohuhu Glitter Pens

  • Surebonder Glue Gun

  • Bearly Art Glue

  • Cutterpillar Pro Paper Trimmer

  • Cutterpillar Crease Scoreboard


Instructions:

Step 1: Cut your base materials

  • Cereal box pieces:

    • 4 1/4” x 9 3/4”

    • 4 1/4” x 6 1/2”




  • Plain cardstock:

    • 4 1/4” x 6 1/2”

    • 4 1/4” x 9 3/4”

    • 5 1/4” x 9 3/4” (for the easel base)



  • Pattern paper:

    • 2 1/2” x 4”

    • 2 pieces at 4” x 6 1/4”





Step 2: Score your easel base

  • Score the 5 1/4 x 9 3/4 plain cardstock at 2 3/4” and 3 1/4” on the long side.



  • Score 1/2” on both short sides.



  • On the long side, mark at 3 3/4” only up to the first score line for a cutting guide. Flip and repeat on the other side. (Make sure that the side of the cardstock that has the initial 2 scoreline is on the right)





Step 3: Score the easel stand pieces (cardboard and white cardstock)

  • For the 4 1/4 x 9 3/4 cardstock and cereal box, score at 1/2”, 1 5/8”, and 2 3/4” on the long side.





  • Also score 1/2” at the opposite end (top).


 


Step 4: Assemble the pocket base (5 1/4 x 9 3/4 white cardstock)

  • Cut along the side score marks to create flaps.

 


  • Cut the sides of the little squares on both sides of the base:

  • Fold all score lines.

  • Glue 2 1/2 x 4” pattern paper to the front pocket panel.  



  • Flip, and adhere one 4 x 6 1/4” patterned piece to the back panel.



  • Glue the flaps together to form a sturdy pocket.


 


Step 5: Construct the easel stand

  • Fold the scored lines like an easel: top 1/2” forward, bottom first line up, second line down, last line up.






  • Glue the 4 1/4 x 6 1/2 cereal box panel to the top and bottom 1/2” flaps of the easel.




Step 6: Decorate your project

  • I colored my Polkadoodles texting girl digi stamp using Ohuhu markers in:

    • R18, R30, P3, P4, P5, CGII00, R21, B030, B050, Y2, Y3

    • Plus glitter pens in pink, gold, and silver for sparkle 



  • I added foam tape for dimension and glued some paper flowers for extra flair


Step 7: Assemble everything

  • Glue the notepad pocket base to the easel stand.



  • Add a cute notepad and pen—and you’re done!





Use It, Gift It, Love It!

This makes such a cute addition to your work desk or craft room—and it’s a perfect gift idea too! The easel stand gives it a nice display feel, and the pocket keeps your notepad secure. Plus, using Polkadoodles digi stamps just adds the perfect touch of charm and cuteness!
