I have been making crafting journey / stories for Bee Happy the past few months and I think that's a cute blog post since this is my blog for crafting. Sooo, here is a summary of some of my crafting journey stories I've shared with the Bee Happy Community.
Let me introduce my self again, hi, I’m Ana - a crafting and hoarding junkie with a love for all things DIY! Creativity runs in the family—my mom was always making something, and I grew up flipping through her imported crafting magazines at home. As a kid, I joined arts and crafts clubs in grade school, doodled on our living room wall (which didn’t end well for me - I vividly recall not being able to play with watusi the next day as punishment, so I guess it was New Year-ish then), and even cut up my mom’s curtains to make doll clothes - I tied the curtain so she won't notice. few days after, she saw the gaping hole I cut for my doll. hehe.
Over the years, I’ve dabbled in wire folding with my husband, jewelry making, candle making, baking, and even collected resin materials—only to sell them unused (we’ve all been there, right?). Thank goodness for a supportive husband who doesn’t question my ever-growing stash!
Paper crafting became my main passion in 2020 when pandemic work shifts suddenly gave me free time.
For my Bee Happy Weeklies 16 (note to self to make a blog post about my Bee Happy Anniversary projects!), I poured my heart into a mini album project that celebrates my crafting journey and the community that keeps me inspired. I wanted this piece to reflect what Bee Happy means to me: joyful connections, spontaneous creativity, and that giddy thrill of using pretty paper and some of my stash. The album is filled with interactive layers, flaps, pockets, and tags—because like life and crafting, it’s all about what’s hidden in the details.
It was fun playing with colors and textures I love (yes, lots of pinks and florals!), while also pushing myself to try new folds and formats. I even used up some long-hoarded supplies—major win! For all the pages, I was able to finish a whole pack of Rosie's Studio 12x12 paper kit. It's painful (crafters will relate!) but I just kept on reminding myself that this project is for ME, so why scrimp on the good stash right?
Now that we're temporarily based in Saudi Arabia, crafting is not just a hobby—it’s a part of me. It’s my creative escape and a little piece of home, no matter where I am. I'm very thankful of the wonderful Bee Happy community and all the supportive members!
