Digi Choosday Project | 3 Cards with Polkadoodles Lily Ladybug Love

Hi crafty friends! I’m back with not one, not two - but three cutesy cards featuring the cutest Lily Ladybug stamps from Polkadoodles!

The first two cards were made for this week’s Digi Choosday inspiration, and I loved them so much I ended up making a bonus card just for fun!

If you’re a fan of sweet bugs, cute girl characters, vibrant reds, and fun textures, you’ll enjoy these projects. Now, let’s get into it!

Card 1: “You’re My Lucky Bug #1”

This card is bold, cheerful, and layered with love! I paired the sweet Polkadoodles Daisy Lily Ladybug digi with a clean red-black-and-white combo and a floral stenciled background.

Materials:

  • Red card stock

  • White cardstock

  • Stencil: Simple Stories - Branch and Butterfly

  • Distress Oxide – Black Soot

  • Blending brush

  • Ohuhu Alcohol Markers

  • Digi Stamp: Polkadoodles’ Daisy Lily Ladybug

Instructions:

  1. Cut red cardstock to 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” and another to 3 1/4” x 4 1/4”.

  2. Cut white cardstock to 4” x 5 1/4” and 3” x 4”.

  3. Place stencil over the 4” x 5 1/4” white cardstock and blend in Distress Oxide using a blending brush.

  4. Remove the stencil and let dry.

  5. Adhere the stenciled panel to the larger red panel.

  6. Use foam tape to adhere the smaller red panel on top.

  7. Glue the remaining white panel (3” x 4”) on top of that.

  8. Print, cut, and color your ladybug digi stamp.

  9. Adhere the digi stamp with foam tape.

  10. Cut white cardstock to 8 1/2” x 5 1/2”, score at 4 1/4” to create your card base.

  11. Glue the entire decorated front onto the card base.

Card 2: “4-ever My Little Lovebug”

This card has a romantic twist with embossed texture and a polka-dotted interior using embossing powder. I love how the inside adds a pop of color to the outside of the card!

Materials:

  • Red cardstock

  • Black cardstock

  • White cardstock

  • Embossing powder

  • Ink pad

  • Blending brush

  • Heat gun

  • Ohuhu Alcohol Markers

  • Sizzix Big Shot

  • Stencil: Echo Park Designer Stencil – Let’s Party

  • Embossing Folder: Park Lane Floral Embossing Folder

  • Digi Stamp: Polkadoodles’ Daisy Lily Ladybug

Instructions:

  1. Cut black cardstock to 8 1/2” x 5 1/2”, score and fold at 4 1/4”. Trim 1” off the front flap.

  2. Cut red cardstock to 4” x 5 1/4”.

  3. Cut two white cardstock panels to 2 3/4” x 5 1/4”.

  4. Place stencil over the 1-inch edge of the red cardstock.

  5. Blend ink over the stencil using a blending brush.

  6. Add embossing powder over the inked area, tap off excess, and heat set.

  7. Glue the red panel to the inside of your card.

  8. Adhere one white panel over the red on the inside.

  9. Emboss the other white panel using the floral embossing folder.

  10. Glue the embossed panel to the front flap of the card.

  11. Print and cut your ladybug digi stamp.

  12. Color with markers.

  13. Adhere with foam tape, making sure not to tape the overhang onto the card inside.

  14. Add your sentiment!

Bonus Card: Just for Fun!

  2. Cut a red panel to 3” x 4”.

  3. Cut black cardstock to 4 1/8” x 5 3/8”.

  4. Cut white cardstock to 4” x 5 1/8” and another to 3” x 3 7/8”.

  5. Glue black cardstock to the inside of the card.

  6. Adhere the 4” x 5 1/8” white panel over the black.

  7. On the black cardstock, apply Aleene’s Glitter Snow through a stencil using a palette knife. Let dry.

  8. Emboss the smaller white panel.

  9. Adhere the stenciled black panel to the card front.

  10. Glue the red 3” x 4” panel to the center of the front flap (no glue on the overhanging part!).

  11. Attach the embossed white panel over it.

  12. Print, cut, and color your ladybug digi.

  13. Adhere it to the card.

That’s it for today’s bug-tastic post!

I hope you’re inspired to get inky and make your own ladybug cards. These Polkadoodles digi stamps are just too cute not to play with.

  1. Across the world, the ladybug is a symbol of protection, healing and good fortune. Your card design is so appropriate because in Japan the ladybug is referred to as “red girl”.
Readers of your blog will really be fortunate for the step-by-step instructions included.

10 Years Married: From 8AM Vows to Riyadh City Lights

I t feels like just yesterday when we said  I do  at 8AM — and I still remember thinking,  Why didn’t we make it 9 instead? Haha. But here we are, a decade into marriage, 14 years together, and living this unexpected chapter of our lives in Saudi Arabia. Watch our SDE here !๐Ÿ’™ Currently, we’re based in  Al Ahsa , one of the oldest provinces in Saudi. For those unfamiliar, think of it as the  probinsya  version of Saudi — calm, rich in heritage, and definitely far from the city buzz. So for our 10th anniversary, we decided to shake (yesss - shake! lol) things up a bit and drive to  Riyadh , the capital. Imagine two  probinsyanas  from some quiet part of the Philippines heading to Manila — that was the vibe. The Road to Riyadh My favorite road sign! haha! We left Al Ahsa around 10AM and arrived in Riyadh a little past 1PM. (Yes, that’s 3+ hours on the road!) With check-in at the  Four Seasons Hotel  only starting at 4PM —  4PM, c...

All the Cricut MEA Prizes I’ve Won (So Far!)

I still remember the first time I joined Cricut MEA’s Ramadan Challenges back in March 2024. I was so excited to take part daily — crafting along with the community for almost 25 days straight — until I was told that Saudi Arabia couldn’t join. ๐Ÿ˜ข Fast forward to December 2024, and everything changed! Cricut MEA officially opened up the challenges to Saudi residents — and I didn’t waste a second. I jumped right into their Christmas Countdown Challenges, and from then on, I’ve joined every single challenge they’ve hosted. December 2024 January 2025 February 2025 March 2025 And now… LOOK AT THIS LOOT! ๐Ÿ˜ Watch my unboxing reel here. A huge, heartfelt thank you to Cricut and Monster Middle East for organizing such fun and inspiring events. My crafty heart is full, and my shelves… well, they might be full too. ๐Ÿ˜… And of course, none of this would be possible without my husband, who has been 100% supportive of all my crafty adventures from day one. ❤️️ Stay tuned — I’ll be sharing more of w...

Happy Cutie-versary, Kelly Bangs!

Can you believe it’s been  five whole years  of Cutie craftiness?! Kelly Bangs is celebrating her 5th Cutie-versary, and as the Design Squad is joining in on the fun!   To mark the occasion, I made a mini album using a mix of some of my favorite Cutie-versary elements — like the adorable Cutie Pie trophies, Florals Greatest Hits (for florals are forever a fave!), The Shape Parade (tags and squares), Mini Guest Checks, and those sweet Scout Friends. It’s a cheerful little project that made me smile from start to finish… even with a  tiny  hiccup. Here’s the funny part: I finished decorating all the inside pages first — each one carefully layered with a piece from The Shape Parade (square) then I went ahead and glued the cover on  upside down.  ๐Ÿ˜… So now all the pages (especially the ones with the letters and number print) are technically flipped. But honestly? That’s one of the things I love most about crafting — the little mistakes that turn into happ...
