Digi Choosday Project | Platform Pop-up Card : Polkadoodles Girl Power Edition!

For this week’s Digi Choosday, I’m sharing a super fun and empowering project—a platform pop-up card featuring a female runner digi stamp from Polkadoodles. Because, girl power! If you want to recreate this card, I’ve listed all the materials I used and included step-by-step instructions below. Let’s get crafty!

Materials Used

  • Sizzix Big Shot

  • Cricut Maker

  • Bearly Art Glue

  • Glue Gun

  • Ribbon

  • Cardstock

  • Sequins

  • Lawn Fawn Platform Pop-Up Dies

  • Rosie’s Studio Simply Charming Puffy Alphabet

  • Ohuhu Alcohol Markers

Polkadoodles Printables:

Instructions

1. Prepare Your Base

  • Choose your pattern paper from the Winnie Let’s Hangout bundle. I love that this die fits a 6x6 sheet perfectly!

  • Die cut 2 pieces of the platform base.

  • With the leftover scraps, cut 3 pieces of the T-shaped insert.

Tip: You can use just 1 or 2 T inserts, but I like having 3 ready in case I want to add more decorative elements.

2. Assemble the Platform

  • Fold along all score lines on both the platform bases and 2 of the T-shaped inserts.

  • Insert one T into the slit of one platform base.

  • Apply glue to the small rectangle flap on the T.

  • Fold the platform so the T flap sticks to the second row from the scalloped top—this becomes your platform “floor.”

  • Apply glue to the bottom edge of the platform and fold it again so it attaches to the top row with the scallop.

Repeat this process for the second platform base and T-shaped piece.

  • For the third T: Trim off the bottom rectangle and glue this piece to the back wall of one platform.

3. Connect the Platforms

  • Glue the side tab of one platform base to the back edge of the other.

  • Make sure the sides are perfectly aligned. You can fold the structure flat to check alignment.

  • Apply glue to the center section of the base to sandwich the T-insert, but leave space unglued if you plan to insert a finish line like I did!

4. Decorate Your Card

  • Finish Line: I cut the arch using my Cricut. Glue the layers together.

  • Use puffy alphabet stickers to spell “FINISH” across the top.

  • Runner Digi: Color your runner image with Ohuhu markers.

  • Glue the finish line arch to the middle of the platform.

  • Attach your ribbon across the finish line arch.

Make sure it’s aligned around the waist of your digi—not too high or it will be on her face level.

  • Once secured, cut the ribbon in the center to give the effect that she already crossed the finish line.

5. Finishing Touches

  • Glue the colored runner to the front T-shaped insert.

  • Add your sentiment—mine says “It’s your time to shine” from Wanda Messages and Quotes, printed and cut using my Cricut.

  • Scatter some sequins for a confetti celebration vibe!

  2. I’am really amazed at the power of your imagination. In every project, you explore new things and look at each with curiosity and ends up beautifully. Your crafting time is your play time; you learn, you create and you grow. In every project you create there is empowerment (deleted the term women, so misogynists won’t have a reason to react): you gain control over your projects, you make choices and decisions on how it would affect the project and comes the self-worth after seeing the finished project (you can say “this is good, I am good”).
