It’s the last Happy Planner spread before we dive into August—and I’m both excited and scrambling! Between cramming Design Team projects, swaps, and blog posts, I’m trying to resist the temptation of bringing a laptop on vacation (I do not want to be that person!).
For this week’s layout, I went with a book-themed spread, using the Happy Planner Bookish Sticker Book and the Miss Maker Accessory Book - because my husband kindly pointed out that I haven’t been reading as much lately. Onga naman. It's just that I've been hooked with Cold Case the past weeks - 2 seasons to go!
Last year, I was a reading machine—averaging 6 books a month with a total of 77 books before November hit. This year? I’ve read exactly six… and it’s already July.

Last year's Bookmory. This year, I haven't used the app! |
Here’s what I’ve managed so far:
The Only One Left – Riley Sager
The Gift – Freida McFadden
Kill For Me, Kill For You – Steve Cavanagh
Dead Med – Freida McFadden
DNFs (Did Not Finish):
You, With a View – Jessica Joyce
Say You’ll Remember Me – Abby Jimenez
(Technically on hold… Ton and I started this together but haven’t had a chance to continue reading at the same time.)
So from 6 books a month to 6 books YTD. Oops! Hence the inspiration behind this week’s spread—my personal nudge to get back to reading!
This layout has cute phrases like “get lost in a good book,” “I’d rather be reading,” “book lady,” “read more books,” and “the world was hers for reading.” I even used a “Laugh. Read. Love.” header to set the tone. Ewan ko nalang if d pa ako magbasa nito ha.
And because crafting is still very much part of my reality, I threw in a “Make Do” sticker and sticky note—my little reminder to finish up my pending projects and list down the must-dos.
Anywhooo, now, share ko lang our small weekend wins!
I love ending posts with life snippets (will try to be consistent moving forward), so here are some simple joys from the weekend:
Friday Midnight Snack Adventures
Ton and I ordered from Hunger Station to celebrate the weekend. I was craving McDonald’s but ended up choosing Subway—until I realized there were too many choices. So I pivoted (hard) to Maza, because the fewer the options, the better for indecisive me. We ordered broasted chicken and shrimp, but got chicken tenders instead of shrimp. I reported it, submitted a quick photo, and got a full refund for the shrimp plus SAR 10 credit almost instantly. Talk about efficiency and total walang trust issues at all! hehehe.
The photo I sent! haha! |
Saturday’s Happy Accident
We went out to get Death Stranding 2 (Ton just finished the first one!) and went to Masami Sushi, an old fave that had just reopened in a new location. Surprise of the day? Everything was 50% off! The wait was long, but totally worth it. Little wins like these make weekends extra sweet.
That’s all for now! Let me know what you’re currently reading—or trying to read —and if you’ve ever had a random weekend win too.
Galing! Sabi asked me yesterday, as in the date of this blog if you're reading books 😆
ReplyDeleteYummy foodiesssss!!! 🤤🤤🤤
ReplyDelete“Reading is essential for those who seek to rise above the ordinary” -Jim Rohn
ReplyDeleteWow, 6 books per week! This makes me really ordinary. I’m in my 60’s now and could only boast finishing 1 book The Da Vinci Code. Actually make it 2, one was Charlotte’s Web which I had to read aloud because it’s your brother’s school requirement and deadline of reading it was just a day or two away. The book literally got webs for he didn’t even touch it.
Your planner looks great.
