Happy Planner Layout – Gryffindor Week

This week’s Happy Planner layout is Harry Potter themed! I used the Wizarding World of Harry Potter sticker book and went with a Gryffindor spread. To be honest, while the sticker book is really nice, it’s also a bit tricky to use in a weekly planner. Most of the designs are centered around Hogwarts and the different houses, so I imagine I’ll probably end up making one spread per house and that’s about it. I mean, yeahhh, I know, it's Harry Potter so obviously it will be centered around those. But I didn't feel this with my Micky Mouse sticker books and I have 2!

For this week, it’s Gryffindor, which means I still have Hogwarts, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff left to go. That should make for a fun little series of themed spreads over the next few weeks.

I also used a new washi tape for this layout—Harry Potter and Gryffindor themed—which was one of the many pasalubong my friend brought back for me from Japan. It matched the spread perfectly!

The sentiments I used this week are “Magic is all around us,” which I absolutely love, along with courage, determination, and bravery, very fitting for a Gryffindor week.

Life Lately

Now for a little Life Lately update!

I’m due for another iron infusion this week. We haven’t scheduled it yet but it will definitely happen in the next few days. I’m already nervous about the nurses again. I’m secretly hoping this time they’ll be Filipina nurses... fingers crossed!

I’m also bringing Bookmory screenshots back to my planner spreads. I recently made a separate Book Journal a few weeks ago and I’ll be adding photos of that too. It’s quite small so my handwriting in it is tiny, but I’m really enjoying having a dedicated space for my reading - in writing form.

And of course, here’s a photo of Lucky, just to give him more air time on the blog. Haha!

Since I’ve been feeling better lately, we’ve been going out again. Last month all I wanted to do was stay home, so this feels like a nice change. Last Tuesday we went for Iftar at Somewhere Hotel. We actually checked their Iftar buffet maybe two Ramadans ago, but at the time I didn’t see much that I would eat. Luckily this time they had Chicken Supreme (chicken with cream sauce) and beef with mushroom and broccoli and mashed potato, so of course I had two servings of these.

I also had two bites of the shawarma Ton got and jell-o for dessert.

And guess what, it was my first time to try dates! Yes, after four years here! Well… technically second time. Years ago we had dessert at Myazu, a Japanese restaurant in Riyadh and I loved the cake they served. I thought it was chocolate cake the whole time. Only weeks later, when I mentioned it to Ton, he told me it was actually date cake. Haha!

Lucky’s Vet Visit

We also brought Lucky to the vet to update his vaccines since they were already due. It’s also part of making sure we’re ready just in case of emergencies and we need to fly back home quickly. We’re really praying for everything to return to normal here in the Middle East.

Lucky always gets uneasy when we’re at the vet. He hugs me tightly and hides behind my hair like he’s trying to disappear. But once he’s on the exam table, he turns into the bravest little boy. He doesn’t run, doesn’t bite, and just takes all the injections like it’s nothing.

Meanwhile, I’m the one scared of needles!

While we were there, we could hear cats crying and screaming from the other rooms... but Lucky? Not a single meow. Just quiet and calm the whole time. I’m so proud of this good boy.

A Little Exciting News

I also have something exciting to share!

Earlier this month, Prestige Paper Products contacted me and invited me to be one of their 10 featured artists for their annual “Papel ni Juana” campaign, celebrating Women’s Month. The campaign launched last Friday and I’m so honored to be part of it. I’ll be sharing their video here on the blog as well!

I even took a little “interview-style” photo with Lucky to celebrate. I decided to take it in my craft room, and I’m really glad I did, I love how the background turned out!

And one more exciting thing - I’ve been accepted into another Design Team! This one looks really promising. It’s also my second DT that uses Basecamp for communication. On my previous team I was honestly confused about how Basecamp worked because it seemed complicated. But this new team uses the different sections really well, which made me finally appreciate how helpful it can be. Everyone has been so friendly, even the owner!

I’m really excited for April, when I can finally announce which team it is.

And that’s it for this week’s spread and life update. Between crafting, reading, little outings, and Lucky’s adventures, it feels like there’s a bit of magic sprinkled into everyday life lately, which feels very fitting for a Gryffindor week. (hehe oh dba nasingit pa!)
