Digi Choosday Project | Boxed Christmas Notelet Set featuring Polkadoodles

This week’s Digi Choosday challenge is to create a set of notelets you can gift or sell, packaged in a box or wallet. I decided to create a second notelet set—this time not just for myself but as a more hands-on project where I cut, glued, and crafted each piece from scratch!

For this version, I used some of my favorite Polkadoodles Christmas-themed goodies and a mix of tools and materials to bring this festive set to life.

Materials Used:

  • White Cardstock

  • Pattern Papers: Polkadoodles Christmas Paper Patterns 2

  • Sentiments: Happy Happy Christmas from Polkadoodles’ Christmas Greetings Sentiment Printable Stamp

  • Glitter Cardstock (in scraps—yay for stash busting!)

  • Cricut Maker

  • Circle Puncher

  • Ribbon

  • Bearly Art Glue

  • Enamel Dots

  • Buttons

  • Surebonder Glue Gun

  • Cutterpillar Pro Paper Trimmer & Score Board

πŸ“ How to Make the 3x3 Notelets:

  1. Cut six pieces of 3x6 white cardstock, score in the middle at 3”, then fold and burnish.

  2. Trim pattern papers to 2 ¾” x 2 ¾” and glue them to the front of each card.

  3. Cut your sentiments into circles using Cricut Design Space:

    • Upload your sentiment and flatten it onto a shape.

Pick your preferred sentiment and upload it to Design Space.

When you get to the Background Remover, do not click on anything and just proceed to Apply & Continue

Next screen will be Convert Upload To. Choose Flat Graphic then click on Continue.

    • Duplicate 7x: one for each notelet, and one for the box.

  4. Punch 7 glitter cardstock circles using a circle punch.

  5. Adhere each sentiment to a glitter circle with hot glue.

  6. Use foam tape (plus a dab of glue for extra security) to mount these on the cards.

  7. Add buttons and red enamel dots to each card for a festive touch.

How to Make the Flip-Top Box:

  1. Cut white cardstock to 9¼” x 6⅞”

  2. Score the long side at: ½”, 3⅝”, 4⅞”, and 8”

Score the short side at: 1¼”, 4⅜”, and 5⅝”

  3. Cut, fold, and trim tabs as needed to form the box shape (refer to your photos for visuals).

  4. Assemble with glue and decorate with:

    • 2 pieces of 2⅞” x 2⅞” and 2 pieces of 2⅞” x 1” patterned paper.

    • A layered sentiment, button, and enamel dot on the front.

    • Finish it off with a ribbon tie for that perfect handmade touch.

I had so much fun making this set and love how everything ties together in a coordinated way. Perfect for the holidays—or for getting ahead with your Christmas crafting!

  2. Looking at this project of yours made me reminisce on the good old days when bookstores offer shelves after shelves of Hallmark greeting cards. It somehow made me sad to think that those old days are gone. How I miss Betsey-Clark and it came scented too.
Now that My Cat and Crafts can make cards as beautiful as Hallmark does well….. I’m not sad anymore😊
