Digi Choosday Project | Baby’s 1st Christmas featuring Polkadoodles Bauble Hat Bella Christmas Bear

This week’s Digi Choosday prompt is all about Baby’s First Christmas, and I had the sweetest time making this keepsake! I created a decorative block/frame that can be used as a tree ornament, nursery décor, or simply a charming display piece. It even doubles as a small gift box—because why not make it extra functional and cute?

Inspired by classic kids’ blocks, I decorated one side with the adorable Bauble Hat Bella Christmas Bear from Polkadoodles and added mini photo frames to the other sides so you can slip in baby’s precious holiday snaps. The top opens, so you could tuck in a little gift, note, or keepsake too!

Materials Used:

  • We R Memory Keepers 1-2-3 Punch Board

  • We R Memory Keepers Frame Punch Board

  • Digi Stamp: Bauble Hat Bella Christmas Bear

  • Patterned Paper: Christmas Paper Patterns 2

  • Plain Cardstock

  • Ohuhu Alcohol Markers (R23, RV260, Y145, YR148, Y030)

  • Ohuhu Glitter Markers (gold, silver, pink)

  • Aleene’s Glitter Snow

  • Loose White Glitter

  • Paint Brush

  • Surebonder Glue Gun

  • Rosie’s Studio Glitter Alphabet

  • Trims and Ribbons

  • Bearly Art Glue

  • Foam Tape

  • Cutterpillar Pro Paper Trimmer

  • Cutterpillar Crease Score Board

Instructions:

  1. Create the box: I made a 4”x4” box using the 1-2-3 Punch Board.

  2. Cover the sides: Cut patterned paper into 3¾” squares and glue them to each side of the box.

  3. Color the digi stamp: I used Ohuhu markers and added glitter marker accents for sparkle. For extra texture, I brushed Aleene’s Glitter Snow on the hat and sprinkled white glitter on top while still wet. Let dry.

  4. Add the main image: Attach Bella to the front using foam tape, then add “2025” using glitter alphabet stickers.

  5. Make photo frames: Use the Frame Punch Board to create 3 mini frames and add cardstock backing inside (leave the tops open to slip photos in). Mount them to the other three sides of the box with foam tape.

  6. Add trims: Cut various trims in different lengths, tie them together in a bundle, and glue them to the top—making sure not to seal the box shut!

This little cube is full of dimension, texture, sparkle, and love—just like a baby’s first Christmas should be!
