Hi crafty friends! For this week’s Digi Choosday, I made a festive set of Christmas Paper Rosettes featuring the adorable Theo Penguin from Polkadoodles. These rosettes are perfect for decorating, gifting, or even turning into hanging ornaments! Here’s how I made them.
Materials Used:
Solid Paper – Craft Smith Berry Tapestry Solids
Glitter Cardstock
Trims and Ribbons
Digi Stamps – Polkadoodles Ice Skating Theo Penguin, Earmuffs Theo Penguin, Pretty Poinsettia
Surebonder Glue Gun
Sentiment – Fussy cut FALALALALA from Polkadoodles Icy Winter Papers Set 2 Theo Penguin
Ohuhu Alcohol Markers (CGII04, CG5, CGII08, CGII09, R26, R310, R312)
Popsicle sticks or chopsticks (I used plastic chopsticks here—no painting needed!)
Round decorative die or punch (I used an Altenew doily / flower die)
Instructions:
Prepare the paper strips: Cut 3 strips of solid paper (1.5 x 12 inches) and score every ¼ inch along the long side. Fold along the score lines, alternating folds to create the rosette accordion.
Create the rosette bases: Use your round die or punch to make glitter cardstock circles for the front and back of each rosette. Fold and glue the strips into a circle, hold and glue your glitter circles to the front and back. Wait for the hot glue to set. Repeat for all 3 rosettes.
Add the poinsettias: Color your Pretty Poinsettia digi stamps or use the pre-colored version. Separate the leaves and holly from the main flower and glue them under the glitter circles. (Side note: this poinsettia digi is one of my favorites—so versatile and only £0.91!)
Color your Theo Penguins: Use alcohol markers to match the clothing/accessory colors to your rosettes.
Add a sentiment: For the third rosette, I fussy cut FALALALALA from the Icy Winter Papers Set 2 for a festive touch. Adhere the digi stamps and sentiment with foam tape for extra dimension.
Attach to sticks or hang: Glue your rosettes to sticks or add string if you’d like them as ornaments. Finish with a ribbon at the bottom for a cute final touch.
A little more about the Pretty Poinsettias: These are one of my favorite Christmas digi stamps from Polkadoodles. The set comes with both colored and black-and-white versions, so you can color them however you like. I love how they instantly add Christmas vibes and dimension to each rosette. Here are some of the other projects I’ve made with this digi stamp!
And that’s it! These Christmas Paper Rosettes are ready to spread Christmas cheer.
