Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Project - Sparkly Thank You Card with Lily Bug Ladybird

Today I’m sharing how I made this sparkly and extra Thank You card using one of the cutest Polkadoodles digi stamps ever - Lily Bug Ladybird Toadstool. I went all out with glitter cardstock, dimensional layers, and bright alcohol marker colouring for this one.

A little extra card, to make sending thanks a little extra special.

Materials Needed

• Cutterpillar Pro Paper Trimmer

• Cutterpillar Crease Score Board

• White Cardstock

• Glitter Cardstock

• Digi Stamp: Lily Bug Ladybird Toadstool 

• Sentiment: Winnie Daisy Fairy Everyday Greetings

• Pattern Paper: Lily Bug Ladybird Papers 4

• Floral Embellishments

• Bearly Art Glue

• SureBonder Glue Gun

• Cricut or heart die (or scissors)

• Ohuhu Alcohol Markers

• Foam Tape

How I Made the Card

1. Prepare the Card Base

Trim your white cardstock to 8.5 x 5.5 inches and score at 4.25 inches on the long side to create a standard A2 card base.

2. Inside Sentiment

Cut another piece of white cardstock to 3 3/4 x 5 inches.

Add the sentiment “you’re spot-tacular” near the upper middle part.

Set this aside for later.

3. Cut the Layers

• Trim red glitter cardstock to 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 inches.

• From the Lily Bug Ladybird Papers, cut:

  • Two pieces at 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 inches

  • One piece at 4 x 5 1/4 inches

4. Colour the Digi Stamp

Print and colour the Lily Bug Ladybird Toadstool digi stamp using Ohuhu Alcohol Markers.

I used the following colours:

• Colorless Blender

• R1, R2, R3, R18, R19

• R30, R230

• Y06

• CGII08, CGII09, CGII04

For extra sparkle, I added Ohuhu Glitter Pens in Red to selected areas.

5. Create the Sentiment Heart

Cut a heart shape using your Cricut, metal dies, or scissors.

Add the “Thank You” sentiment and set aside.

Assembly Time 

1. Layer the 3 3/4 x 5 white cardstock with the “you’re spot-tacular” sentiment onto the 4 x 5 1/4 patterned paper and adhere it inside the card.

2. On the card front, adhere the glitter cardstock to the base using foam tape to add depth.

3. Glue one 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 polka dot panel on top of the glitter cardstock.

4. Adhere the heart sentiment to the patterned paper using glue.

5. Glue the coloured digi stamp to the right side of the card.

6. Finish by adding floral embellishments at the bottom left, beside the digi stamp and underneath the heart sentiment, using a glue gun for extra hold.

I absolutely love how this card turned out! It's sparkly, cheerful, and full of personality. The Lily Bug Ladybird collection is just perfect for thank-you cards with a playful, floral twist.
