Polkadoodles DigiChoosday Project - Mixed Media Thank You Card | Lilac Haze Watercoloured Flowers

Today I’m sharing another Thank You card for our Digichoosday DT prompt, Thank you. It is another mixed media thank you card but this time, I created it using the Lilac Haze Watercoloured Flowers collection from Polkadoodles. I love this collection because it's a set of papers and flowers and it's absolutely versatile. Plus, as a pink girlie, this collection makes me work with florals that are not pink as I always tend to sway to pink tones when creating anything floral. So basically, this collection is a great deal because it includes gorgeous florals, papers, and embellishment options all in one, making it perfect for layered and texture-rich cards.

Check out a TN I made with the same collection here.

This card is definitely on the extra side, but sometimes that’s exactly what a thank you card needs to truly show appreciation. Layers, dimension, texture, and a little surprise element make it feel really special for the recipient. My first thank you card for this prompt is here - also special and extra!

Materials Needed

How I Made the Card

  1. Prepare your card base by trimming white cardstock to 8.5 x 5.5 inches and score at 4.25 inches on the long side.

  2. Trim solid cardstock to 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 inches.

  3. Trim patterned paper to 4 x 5 1/4 inches.

  4. Trim another piece of patterned paper to 3 7/8 x 3 inches.

  5. Adhere the solid cardstock, the 4 x 5 1/4 patterned paper, and the 3 7/8 x 3 patterned paper together. Place the smallest piece at the bottom and adhere it using foam tape for dimension.

  6. Add a heart frame to create a focal point.

  7. Cut and layer the floral digi stamps from the Lilac Haze collection in different sizes (I used my Cricut Maker) and adhere them with foam tape.

  8. Add your additional floral embellishment using a glue gun.

  9. For texture, tuck in gauze behind the florals. Remember - gauze expires! This is your sign to check your first aid kit and see if some of it can officially join your mixed media stash (after restocking, of course).

  10. Add your sentiment. I used a sticker from my Pebbles sticker set.

  11. Finish with enamel dots (I used Rosie’s Studio enamel dots).

  12. Adhere the butterfly using a glue gun.

  13. Attach the finished card panel to your card base using foam tape for extra dimension.

This card has a lot going on, but all those layers and textures come together beautifully and really elevate a simple thank you into something meaningful and memorable.

  2. Your Lilac Haze Watercolored Flower Thank You card is equally great like your first Lily Bug Ladybird card.
Sending unique and beautifully crafted thank you cards like these is a meaningful way of showing appreciation and leaves a lasting positive impression.
With a personal touch the recipient would feel seen and valued.
