Polkadoodles New Release Project | Bunny with Carrots Gatefold Card

Hi crafty friends! Today I’m sharing a sweet and simple gatefold card featuring the adorable Bunny with Carrots from Polkadoodles’ new release.

This project is extra special to me because I created it while joining my crafty friend Ms. Lala of Mommy Guide Inc during her Holy Week Devotion and Crafting session on YouTube. I first made my Holy Week card during the session, and afterwards, I was inspired to recreate the design and give it a Polkadoodles twist using this cute bunny digi!

This gatefold card is beginner-friendly and fun to make, especially with the interactive closure mechanism in the middle. If you’d like to recreate it, you can follow my step-by-step instructions below—or watch Ms. Lala’s video for a guided version of the process. Don’t forget to check out and follow her socials too:

For my Holy Week version, I used gold accents and a more muted palette, but for this Polkadoodles version, I leaned into a cheerful spring vibe using soft, pretty patterns and the cutest bunny image.

My Holy Week Devotion Card

For this version, I focused on a more elegant and meaningful look. I used Secret Gardenia Paper Pad from Recollections for the pattern paper and the sentiment stamp from another crafty friend, Jho of Paperl Atbp.'s Believe: Mark 11:23 Stamp Set.

This card was all about reflection and simplicity, and I really enjoyed the calm and intentional process of making it during the devotion.

Materials Used:

Plain cardstock

Pattern Paper - Polkadoodles' Pretty Spring Papers

Digi Stamp - Polkadoodles' Bunny with Carrots

Tim Holtz Guillotine Paper Trimmer

Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue

CutterPillar Crease Score Board

Sentiment - from the Bunny with Carrots digi set

How I Made It:

I started by preparing my card base using plain cardstock trimmed to 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches. I scored both sides at 2 1/8 inches to create the gatefold panels.

Next, I cut two pieces of patterned paper (1 7/8 x 5 1/4 inches) from the Pretty Spring Papers and adhered them to the front panels for a soft, spring-inspired look.

To create the closure mechanism, I cut three 2-inch squares. Two of these were folded diagonally and adhered onto the third square, forming a simple interactive closure that sits between the card flaps.

I then made a belly band by trimming a strip of cardstock (1 x 8 1/2 inches), scoring it at 2 1/8 and 6 1/4 inches, and decorating it with a strip of patterned paper. This was carefully attached to the triangular closure—making sure to only glue the top portion so the mechanism stays functional.

Inside the card, I added a white panel (4 x 5 1/4 inches) to give a clean space for writing a message.

Finally, I decorated the front using the Bunny with Carrots digi stamp along with the adorable sentiment “some-bunny’s bringing the good stuff.” It tied everything together perfectly and added such a fun, playful touch!

And that’s it, your gatefold card is done!

Simple, interactive, and perfect for spring or Easter crafting!
