Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing another fun card featuring one of the adorable characters from Polkadoodles’ brand new Fluffy Friends collection - and this time, it’s sweet little Pickles!
If you missed my previous Fluffy Friends cards, be sure to check them out here (I’ll add the links!).
For this project, I continued with the same layered card style I’ve been loving lately, mixing and matching several of the cute pattern papers from the collection to create a fun, playful background. If you know me, you already know I’m definitely not a minimalist crafter, so adding lots of layers and little details is always my thing! Hehe!
Materials Used
- Pattern papers from Polkadoodles’ Fluffy Friends collection
- Digi stamp – Pickles Dog Flower Bouquet 3
- Sentiment – Friends Make Life Pawsome
- Foam Tape
- String
- White Cardstock
- Bearly Art Glue
- Tim Holtz Guillotine
- Scissors
- CutterPillar Crease Scoreboard
- We R Memory Keepers Scallop Border Punch
How I Made It
1. Cut a piece of white cardstock to 5½” × 8½” and score it at 4¼” on the long side to create an A2 card base (4¼” × 5½”).2. Trim two pieces of different patterned papers to 1” × 4” each. These will become the decorative strips on the card front.
4. Cut a fourth patterned paper to ½” × 4”. Before trimming it to its final width, use a scallop border punch along one long edge to create a decorative border.
5. Adhere the two 1” × 4” patterned paper strips and the scalloped border strip onto the 4” × 5¼” background piece. Use the photo below as a guide for placement.
6. Wrap string around the layered panel twice, covering the seam between the two 1-inch strips, and tie it into a bow on the right side.
7. Cut two small banner pieces measuring approximately ¾” wide from scrap patterned paper and tuck them underneath the tied string for an extra decorative touch.
8. Print and color the Pickles Dog Flower Bouquet 3 digi stamp. Trim a rectangle for the Friends Make Life Pawsome sentiment to fit your colored image, then adhere both the sentiment panel and the digi stamp using foam tape to add dimension to the finished card.
And here it is! A bright, happy card filled with fun layers, sweet details, and of course, the cutest little Pickles! This would be such a lovely card for any pet-loving friend or family member.
